About Celestia (TIA)
Celestia (TIA) launched its mainnet in October 2023, founded by Mustafa Al-Bassam (a member of Lulzsec who later became a respected blockchain researcher at University College London), John Adler, and Ismail Khoffi. Celestia is the first "modular" blockchain — providing only data availability and consensus while delegating execution to other chains. TIA was airdropped to historical Ethereum, Cosmos, and Polkadot users in October 2023 in a widely celebrated distribution that seeded broad initial holder distribution.
Celestia Technology
Celestia separates blockchain into three layers: consensus (ordering transactions), data availability (ensuring all transaction data is published), and execution (running the transactions). Celestia provides only the first two; rollups handle execution separately. Celestia uses Data Availability Sampling — light nodes can verify that data is available by sampling random chunks rather than downloading entire blocks, enabling massive scalability without sacrificing security. Many rollups (Manta Pacific, Eclipse, Movement, Dymension RollApps) post data to Celestia instead of Ethereum.
What Moves the TIA Price
TIA trades with moderate correlation to ETH but has unique fundamental drivers around modular rollup adoption. Daily spot volume on Binance, OKX, and Bybit typically ranges from $80-150 million. Key drivers include the number of rollups using Celestia for data availability, total blob throughput, restaking integrations, and broader debates around modular versus monolithic blockchain architecture.

What is the Celestia price today?
The current Celestia (TIA) price is shown above in real time. It is sourced directly from major exchanges and refreshed continuously throughout the day.
How often is the TIA price updated?
The TIA/USDT price on this page is streamed live from our market-data engine and updates every second while exchanges are open (24/7 for crypto).
Where can I buy Celestia?
Celestia (TIA) is available on major exchanges including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken and Bybit. Always do your own research and only use regulated platforms.
What is modular blockchain architecture?
Modular blockchains separate the functions of consensus, data availability, execution, and settlement into different layers, each optimized for its specific role. This contrasts with monolithic chains like Solana that try to do everything in one layer. Celestia provides only consensus and data availability; rollups handle execution.
What is Data Availability Sampling?
DAS lets light nodes verify that block data is fully published by sampling small random chunks rather than downloading the entire block. With enough samples, the probability of missing data approaches zero. This enables massive block sizes (and thus high throughput) without requiring all nodes to be powerful machines.
Who uses Celestia?
Major rollups using Celestia for data availability include Manta Pacific, Eclipse, Dymension RollApps, Movement, and Lyra. Some projects use Celestia in combination with Ethereum for hybrid models. The list of consumers is publicly tracked and continues to expand as new modular rollups launch.
